Neighbourhood Plan

Olney Town Council has decided to work with the community and prepare a Neighbourhood Plan

What is it?

Under recent legislation, communities can produce a Neighbourhood Plan which, when approved, achieves greater increased local control over the planning process.

Why are we doing it?

  • We can develop a shared vision of how the town will develop
  • We can decide where new houses and commercial and other development will be built and where they cannot be built. We can specify the mix of housing types
  • We can decide how to protect and enhance the towns green spaces
  • We can influence the appearance of any new buildings
