Olney Town Council ground staff work on a continuous programme throughout the year to maintain the open spaces in Olney.
They work especially hard to keep our sports pitches up to a high standard for all the teams.
The recreation areas maintained by the Council include:
We do welcome visitors who are respectful of our spaces, but please leave them as you find them, littering is a huge problem, which is a danger to our rivers and wildlife, as well as looking disgraceful, is extremely costly to remove. Please take your litter home.
BBQs ruin our lovely fields by scorching areas of grass, there is also a risk of setting the grass alight, please no BBQs.
Olney is covered by a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO), meaning that alcohol cannot be consumed in a public space anywhere in Olney.
With the help of local sponsorship Olney Town Council is able to continue to keep the town’s flowerbeds and turrets at the entrances to the town in full colour throughout the year, especially in the summer when the hanging baskets are in full bloom.
